Gift for Eliza

It is kind of ironic that when my friends have a baby I turn to other patterns to try out. This week a dear friend of mine had a little girl, Eliza. I am so excited to go see them on Wednesday so of course I had to make a hat for them and I always enjoy adding some booties to match.
Now, doesn't this hat and baby shoes go perfect together? I just love how they turned out especially in the soft cream and coral colors (I used Caron Simply Soft for this project).

If you love this set, then I have to share a secret with you....
Both patterns are completely free!

The lovely hat is by Alice and the Mock Turtle, it is called the Itty Bitty Bow Beanie. The pattern was easy to follow but here is a helpful hint: on the repeat rows (rows 7-13) make sure you join in top of the first double crochet, not the sc. This did confuse me for a bit until I reread the instructions, then it went quickly. The lovely combination of stitches made this hat fun to make and I love the little boy!

The cute baby shoes almost look like little ballet slippers and are the easiest and quickest baby shoes I have ever made. This beautiful pattern is called the Little Dot Mary Janes by Whistle & Ivy. I did have to go up a hook size to get the right measurements (used hook G). The pattern was written for a little girl that was battling cancer so she asks that you make a donation. I am going to make an extra set to add to my Cancer Charity Challenge.

I hope you enjoy the set and the links to the patterns.
