About a month ago I decided to start selling my handmade hats on etsy, I was focusing on creating baby/infant hats and photography props. I was excited with my first sale and couldn't wait for the next. My next sell really touched me and my focus has expanded! I received a message from Shannon that broke my heart. She has a three year old daughter going through chemotherapy. One of my sons was about to turn three and I just couldn't even begin to imagine what her family was going through.
I have been following their story since and love seeing little Emily's big smile and every so often I even get to see her wearing one of my hats which makes me smile! You can follow her story at:
Emily just finished her 4th round of chemotherapy. It was a difficult week for her and her family. Please keep them all in your prayers. Emily's mom said in her last post, "Love to babies and hold them tight. Make sure you tell them you love them and take each day and treasure it." Take time today to squeeze those little ones tight and tell them you love them with all your heart. To all children going through chemotherapy, my heart goes out to you and you are in my prayer. My shop, My Sweet Potato 3 is offering a discount to you. Just because you have hair loss it doesn't mean that you have to stay inside or be embarassed. I want all children to feel confident and beautiful. My hope is that my hats will help your child feel more comfortable and that they have fun wearing them. I do custom orders because I want you to love what you get. All hats are eligible for this discount. If you are purchasing a hat for a child going through chemotherapy just enter coupon code, "EMILY" at check out and you will recieve 20% off. If you know a child going through this, please consider doing something special for them, whether it is purchasing a hat from my shop or someone else, let's all show them how much we care.

I heart just hurts when I see kids that are going through such hardship. One one deserves it. It's nice that she likes your hats, which are wonderful, and they seem to make her feel good. :)

Awww, what a little sweetie, look at that smile. Kids are so amazing, aren't they? They never seem to feel sorry for themselves like adults do. It's truly amazing. Sending prayers their way! And cute hats too.
